President Trump signed The America First Offshore Energy Executive Order, directing a review of the locations available for offshore oil and gas exploration and of certain regulations governing offshore oil and gas exploration in American waters. The Order also directs the Secretary of Commerce to refrain from designating or expanding any national marine sanctuary and to review all national marine sanctuaries designated and expanded in the last 10 years; this will include the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary which protects the Sonoma Coast.

Our National Marine Sanctuary System provides incredible economic and social benefits to all Americans, particularly coastal communities. The National Marine Sanctuary Foundation urges the Administration to recognize the importance of sanctuaries to all Americans and sectors of the economy.

What you can do to help us stand up for marine sanctuaries!
